Mike Hayton speaking at FISIC 2015

Mike was delighted to have been asked to speak at the Fortius International Sports Injury conference ( FISIC 2015).

From the conference website

"Timed to coincide with the Rugby World Cup and supported by World Rugby, the content is focused on Rugby but has wider relevance, applying lessons learnt in a range of sports to current rugby issues.

The multi-disciplinary conference is aimed at orthopaedic surgeons, sports physicians, physiotherapists and other sports and exercise professionals. The programme aims to have broad appeal, and specifically includes the opportunity to debate controversial issues. An internationally renowned team of experts has been brought together for the faculty in order to provide the latest insights into treatment and prevention of sporting injuries.

Running alongside the conference programme is an allied GP educational programme in Sports injury, with speakers from the Faculty of Sport and Exercise Medicine UK."

Mike spoke on the combat hand and in particular the Boxer's extensor hood injury and also hand CMCJ instability.

The feedback from FISIC delegates was very positive and matched Mike's enthusiasm for the course with good dialogue from the delegates. The faculty challenged each other and probed some of the more controversial aspects of hand and wrist injuries in sports people.

For the hand and wrist session the average score ( out of 5) was 4.43. and Mike scored 4.6 for content and 4.6 for presentation.
