Fees
Mike has been a Consultant Orthopaedic Hand Surgeon for over 20 years, and his fees reflect his experience and reputation.
Mike indirectly holds a 2.72% share in Didsbury MSK Limited, which owns the OrthTeam Centre. He is a director and shareholder of OrthTeam Didsbury Limited, which provides consultancy services to Didsbury MSK Limited for a fee of £500 per hour.
Mike is transparent in his fees, and these fees are correct as of February 2025.
Private Patient Self Pay
The fee for an initial consultation is usually £275 and may increase to £350 for a complex case.
There is no additional fee for me to review any of the investigations arranged at the first visit as this is included in the initial fee.
Further follow-up consultations will usually be £175 but will not exceed £250.
Video consultations can be arranged at £200.
Self pay patients need to have the funds cleared before the consultation can take place.
Should you cancel your appointment with less than 24 hours' notice, a cancellation fee of up to 50% of the appointment charge OR an amount of £100 (initial consultation) and £75 (follow-up consultation) may be charged.
Following your consultation, you may need specific tests (such as blood tests or imaging, for example, an X-ray, MRI or CT scan) to help diagnose your condition. If the test is undertaken by the clinic or hospital and not by Mike, the fees for those tests will be determined by the clinic or hospital and charged to you or your private medical insurer separately.
If there are any fees which he will charge in relation to any of the tests he advises that you have, he will let you know what those will be.
Private Patient with Medical Insurance
If you have private medical insurance, please get in touch with your insurer before your consultation to check the terms of your policy, particularly the level and type of outpatient coverage you have, including any reimbursement limits on individual consultation fees.
Mike is recognised by most private medical insurers, but some private health insurance policies cover only part of the surgical and anaesthetic fees.
His surgical fees reflect his experience and reputation in offering the highest quality of care provided to you.
You will be informed of and responsible for any shortfall in the fees.
